At 11:20 a.m., Sanatoga was dispatched to assist the Pottstown Fire Department with a possible building fire. Upon arrival, CH69 requested a second alarm. Responding crews discovered an underground electrical fire at the scene.

Crews immediately checked the air quality in nearby buildings. Due to high levels of carbon monoxide, buildings on the block were evacuated, and PECO was notified. Fire personnel began ventilating the buildings and closely monitored the area for safety.

Traffic 58 assisted with controlling traffic around scene.

The county Hazmat team was also called to assist with air monitoring efforts. Sanatoga remained on the scene for approximately 12 hours before being released by command.
