Friday Morning while returning from a Building Fire response in Limerick, Squad 58 as alerted to respond the on Working Fire Dispatch to assist Pottstown Fire Department & Emergency Management for a church on fire on N. Hanover Street. Squad, Chief, Assistant, Traffic 58 and Utility 58 responded with a total of 14 personnel. Squad 58 arrived and secured a secondary water supply from the hydrant at King and Hanover and laid into the scene. Crews deployed two handlines, a ground monitor and placed the deck gun from the Squad in service along the Bravo side of the church and worked to protect the neighboring homes. Crews remained on scene for approximately 8 hours before being relieved by Engine 66. Fire Police remained on scene assisting with road closures into the evening hours.
